Who is Tom Wadsworth?

Tom Wadsworth is a speaker, author, and scholar with a wide range of experience.

Tom has delivered presentations to corporate, civic, and religious audiences across the United States, as well as in Canada and Asia. His speaking career spans over four decades and is built on a diverse background: ten years serving as a minister, another ten years working in radio, and more than 40 years as a professional voice talent. During that time, he contributed to over 15,000 radio and television commercials and more than 3,000 corporate videos distributed throughout all 50 U.S. states and internationally.

Education

He earned a PhD in New Testament studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2022, along with a Master of Theology in Biblical Theology from the same institution. Earlier, he completed a Master of Theology (MDiv) at Harding School of Theology in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1977, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Harding University in 1974.

Tom has written hundreds of articles published nationwide, drawing in part on his two decades of experience as editor of a national trade magazine. In 2016, he received major recognition from the American Society of Business Publication Editors, including a Gold Medal for Investigative Journalism and the prestigious Stephen Barr Award for Feature Writing, often considered the top honor of the annual AZBEE Awards.

Volunteer

His community involvement extends over 40 years and includes work with organizations such as the United Way of Lee County, the Village of Progress in Ogle County, and the Dixon Public Schools Foundation. In 1997, he founded the Dixon Stupor Bowl, a fundraising event supporting local schools. In 2025, he was honored as Volunteer of the Year by the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
